The Gambit Bar’s Chef Kevin Erving Wins First Place at Taste of Vail 2025 Chef Challenge

Vail, Colo. (April 2025) — The Sebastian – Vail is proud to announce that Chef Kevin Erving of The Gambit Bar has been awarded First Place in the Taste of Vail Après in the Streets Chef Challenge, presented by Fitch Ranch Artisan Meat & Co. and Certified Angus Beef.
As one of the most anticipated culinary events in the region, the Chef Challenge showcases the talents of Vail’s finest chefs in a dynamic outdoor setting in the heart of the village. Chef Kevin impressed judges and guests alike with his award-winning dish: Crispy Masa “Mixiotes” featuring braised beef, salsa verde, lime crema, salsa roja, pickled Fresno chiles, and cilantro—a vibrant expression of bold flavor and mountain-inspired creativity.
