Preparing for the 2024-2025 Ski Season in Vail, Colorado
September 23, 2024
As the advent of fall signals the approach of winter, Vail, Colorado, comes alive in anticipation of another exciting ski season. For those who have made Vail their winter haven, like the Owners at The Sebastian – Vail, the upcoming season promises not just great skiing but a seamless, luxurious experience from start to finish. With Vail’s opening day set for November 15, 2024, it’s time to prepare for the 2024-2025 ski season.
Snowfall Predictions and Opening Dates
The 2024-2025 season is expected to be an exceptional one, with early forecasts predicting the return of La Niña. La Niña is a weather pattern that results in cold, wet winter weather in the northern hemisphere, which means plenty of snow to cover Vail’s vast terrain. While these forecasts could change as we approach winter, prediction models continue to demonstrate a high likelihood of a strong snow year.
Most Colorado ski and snowboard resorts have announced their opening dates, with Vail Mountain set to open on November 15. As one of the premier ski destinations in North America, Vail Mountain offers something for everyone, from beginners to expert skiers. With 5,289 acres of terrain, including seven legendary back bowls, the possibilities are endless. As soon as you set foot on the mountain, you’ll experience the exhilaration that comes from carving through fresh powder, exploring perfectly groomed runs, and soaking in breathtaking mountain views.
2024–2025 Epic Passes and Lift Tickets
Vail Mountain is included in the Epic Pass, with season passes and day passes available. Those planning to purchase any Epic Pass, whether season or day, are encouraged to purchase their passes before October 9, as prices will increase as the season approaches.
1-Day Lift Tickets are also available, but lift tickets are limited and can sell out on popular days, so it is recommended that you purchase them in advance. But not to worry – if you decide not to use your lift tickets, simply request a refund before 5 PM on the last day of your ticket to be refunded for any unused days.
New Direct Flights for a Hassle-Free Journey
Getting to Vail just became even easier, thanks to expanded direct flight options for the 2024-2025 season. Alaska Airlines will now offer non-stop flights to Vail’s Eagle County Regional Airport from San Diego and Seattle. From December 20, 2024, to March 16, 2025, these flights will run three times per week, making travel to Vail fast and easy.
