Elite riders going head-to-head for the prestigious Burton U.S. Open title and an impressive $373,000 prize purse. While the tricks, style, and flare may vary, the athletes continually defy gravity while creatively showcasing the latest in riding in both the slopestyle and halfpipe events.

WHAT’S NEW

The 2020 Burton U.S. Open is kicking the decade off with new slopestyle and halfpipe course designs that will define the next chapter of the world’s greatest and longest-running snowboard event. Based on rider input, these new features move to promote creative and expressive freedom. This year’s slopestyle course will be composed of urban rails, wall rides, a 13-foot radius transition jump, a 22-foot radius transition jump, high-speed rails, and a traditional booter to wrap things up. The reimagined Burton U.S. Open halfpipe will feature a 13-foot mini pipe with 6-foot tombstones that transitions into a standard 22-footer. Halfpipe riders should expect to get three hits in the first section and three to four more in the second section. Fans agree, the 2020 courses are expected to be bigger and better than ever.
