Challenging. Grueling. Exhilarating. Beaver Creek Mountain is home to the formidable Birds of Prey racecourse for Men and the New Raptor racecourse for Women. An international roster of top athletes will be spending the next two weekends competing in The Audi Birds of Prey races. Women's Downhill, Super-G and Giant Slalom races take place from November 29 - December 1, 2013; men's Downhill, Super-G and Giant Slalom races are scheduled for December 6 - 8, 2013.
All World Cup events are free and open to the public, and always draw festive crowds with autograph signing sessions, refreshments and more! This year's races should be especially exciting as they'll be leading up to the 2014 Winter Olympics this February in Sochi, Russia.
Owners and guests at Timbers Resorts' properties in the Vail/Beaver Creek area will find themselves in the thick of the action for the races. The Sebastian - Vail - A Timbers Resort, and Timbers Bachelor Gulch - A Timbers Residence Club, are conveniently located near the excitement and serve as ideal spots to rest and relax pre- and post-race! Whether choosing luxury vacation homes or fractional ownership, spectators will be up close for a preview of this February's premier athletes and future Olympians.
If a trip to the Olympics is not in the cards, there's no better chance to see these elite winter athletes than stateside in Colorado. And as skiers are known to work hard and play hard, expect a fiercely competitive—and fiercely fun—atmosphere.
Vail/Beaver Creek is also the home to the 2015 FIS Alpine World Ski Championships featuring men’s and women’s racing for two weeks in February 2015.
